Guacamole Toast Recipe – Perfect to Pair with Tea

Some people keep asking me to share recipes that go well with teas. So here it is—my go-to Guacamole Recipe. You can enjoy it with bread, khakhra, crisps, pita, lavash, or pretty much anything. It is super-duper easy to make and comes together in about 15 minutes (I take my time washing and chopping the veggies!). It works beautifully as breakfast, a quick snack, or even a light dinner option.

Avocados are often called a “superfood.” They’re packed with healthy fats that keep you full for longer, fiber that’s good for digestion, and vitamins like C, E, and K. They also have potassium, which supports heart health. In simple words, they’re creamy, filling, and nutritious—all in one.

How to Pick a Ripe Avocado

Choosing the right avocado is important for good guacamole. A ripe avocado should feel slightly soft when you press it gently—neither too hard nor too mushy.

Quick Tip: If you’ve picked an unripe avocado, microwave the whole avocado (without cutting) for about a minute. It will soften, but the flavor won’t be as great as a naturally ripened avocado.

Why Choose Hass Avocado

I usually buy Hass Avocados because they have a creamier texture and richer flavor than other types. Living in Mumbai, I find Hass Avocados easily, while other options I often see are Indian Avocado or just labeled “Avocado.” I always make sure to check the label or ask the vendor before buying.

Tea Pairings with Guacamole Toast

One of the reasons I love this recipe is because it pairs so well with different teas:

  • Green Tea – the freshness balances the creaminess of avocado.
  • Chamomile Tea – mild and calming, great for a light dinner.
  • Iced Lemon Tea – a zesty match for a refreshing snack.
  • Jasmine Green Tea – floral and light, pairs beautifully with creamy avocado.
  • Darjeeling First Flush – delicate and slightly fruity, balances the richness.
  • Mint Tea – refreshing and uplifting, perfect for a summer snack.
  • Oolong Tea – mild yet complex, a great choice if you want something different.
  • Earl Grey – the citrusy bergamot notes go surprisingly well with guacamole.

Guacamole Recipe Ingredients

Guacamole
  • 1 Hass Avocado
  • 1 Small Onion (use a medium one if you like more onion flavor)
  • 10 gms of coriander or 1 small cup (adjust as per your choice). You can also add parsley if available.
  • 1 Small Tomato
  • ½ Lemon, freshly squeezed

Method – How to Make Guacamole

  1. Cut the avocado in half, remove the seed, and scoop the pulp into a bowl.
  2. Mash it lightly with a fork—keep it slightly chunky for texture.
  3. Finely chop onion, tomato, and coriander. Add them to the avocado.
  4. Squeeze in lemon juice and mix everything well.
  5. Add a pinch of salt if you like.

Guacamole Toast Recipe

If you want to make guacamole toast, it’s super simple:

  1. Toast your bread in a toaster, oven, or on a tawa until crisp and golden.
  2. Spread a generous layer of fresh guacamole on top.
  3. Enjoy as is, or add extra toppings like chilli flakes, sesame seeds, or a drizzle of olive oil.

Tips for Perfect Guacamole

  • Traditionally they do add a bit of olive oil but I skip it.
  • Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor.
  • Do not throw away the avocado seed—keep it in the bowl/container to slow down browning.
  • Adjust onion and tomato size as per your liking.

End Note

Guacamole toast is one of those recipes that’s simple, healthy, and endlessly versatile. Whether you’re making it for breakfast, a snack, or a light dinner, it always feels satisfying. Pair it with your favorite cup of tea, and you’ve got yourself a wholesome little ritual. Try it out, experiment with toppings, and let your taste buds guide you!
