On my recent trip to Vietnam, I was introduced to this delicious cold beverage – Bubble Tea and I have been obsessed with it ever since.
What is Bubble Tea?
Bubble Tea, also known as Boba Tea is a Taiwanese tea-based drink that is typically served cold with chewy tapioca balls or fruit jelly at the bottom. The drink is then shaken to create a frothy and refreshing beverage that is perfect for any time of day. The drink is then served with a wide straw, allowing you to suck up the pearls along with the tea.
But how is it made?
The base of the drink is usually a black or green tea that is brewed and then mixed with milk and sugar to create a creamy and sweet flavor. The tapioca pearls are cooked separately and then added to the tea. Some variations of bubble tea also include fruit flavors and even ice cream.
How does it taste?
Well, that really depends on the flavor you choose. Bubble Tea comes in a variety of flavors including classic milk tea, fruity blends, and even chocolate or matcha flavors. The tapioca balls themselves have a very mild sweet flavor, so the taste comes from the tea and fruit/milk mixture.
Overall, it is a refreshing and fun drink that is perfect for a hot summer day or a fun night out with friends.
